Hakarat Hatov: A Beautiful Day, a New Year

Spirits were high and scores were low (for some of us, anyway!) at the seventh annual Berkowitz Family Libenu Golf Outing on Monday, September 19. With scramble starts for both morning and afternoon rounds of golf, 220 people golfed generously to benefit Libenu, raising over $400,000 to support Libenu’s critical programs for children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.

With perfect weather throughout the day, Libenu supporters enjoyed a round of golf at the beautiful Ravinia Green Country Club, delicious BBQ lunch and dinner, a silent auction featuring foursomes at exclusive golf clubs, fabulous raffle prizes, signature cocktails, Rita’s ices, gourmet food stations along the course, special deliveries of charcuterie and Israeli appetizer trays, fun games and contests, and – of course – each other’s wonderful company. Mazel tov to this year’s Kiddush Cup winners, AM Shotgun Scott Gelman, Bruce Sanders, Mitchell King, and Phil Wolf – three-peat champions! – and PM shotgun Joel Gordon, Michelle Lezotte, Todd Grubitch, and Ann Doherty.

We would like to thank our generous sponsors!

Special thanks to Dudi Berkowitz and family for generously sponsoring the annual golf outing; Dovid Seitler, whose tireless efforts made the event a tremendous success; and to Mitch and Max Dayan, who first conceived of the golf outing seven years ago. Libenu owes you all a tremendous hakarat hatov.

Whether you golfed with us this year or wish to join one next time, please watch for forthcoming details for next year’s Berkowitz Family Libenu Golf Outing! You won’t want to miss THE event of the summer!

On behalf of the entire Libenu community, we extend heartfelt wishes to you for a healthy, joyous, peaceful, and fulfilling new year.

Shana tova u’metukah – have a happy, sweet new year!
