Dear Friends,

Tu B’Shvat, the New Year for the Trees, celebrates growth, renewal, and the roots that sustain life. Trees remind us that what makes something strong is often unseen. Roots spread quietly beneath the surface, deeply intertwined with other roots, drawing nourishment and creating stability. Just like trees in a forest, we are not meant to grow alone. We are stronger together and flourish when we are connected through community, shared responsibility, compassion, and love.

For Jewish families of individuals with disabilities, this message is especially meaningful. Caregiving is constant, and many families carry heavy responsibilities that others do not see, alongside long-term worries about what the future will hold. At Libenu, we plant seeds for the future and strengthen the roots of support so that individuals with disabilities and their families are never left to navigate life alone. We are committed to building a community where every person is embraced with dignity, belonging, and inclusion.

Rabbi Jonathan Sacks z”l taught, “A tree is a symbol of hope.” At Libenu, hope is a safe and nurturing environment for individuals with disabilities and their families. It is a child who is understood and welcomed and a parent who can finally take a breath because they are no longer carrying everything by themselves. It is a young adult who thrives with friends and community. Hope is the promise that Libenu’s support will be there not only today, but for a lifetime.

May this Tu B’Shvat strengthen our roots and deepen our commitment to caring for one another. May we be blessed to plant what endures and nurture what matters most. May we continue planting seeds of inclusion and belonging, building a community where individuals with disabilities are valued and supported, Today, Tomorrow, For Life.

Best Wishes and Chag Sameach,

Shana Erenberg, CEO
