When I first heard about Libenu, I thought it was lovely that people were interested in such a lofty ideal but did not believe it would come to fruition.
In such a short span of time, there is a warm young men’s home, a very exuberant young women’s home, a new third home, plans for a fourth home and numerous other young adults on the waiting list. This is the stepping-stone for further opportunities to maximize people with disabilities lives, whether it is a home, a work environment, a recreational activity, or academic endeavors. Libenu exists not to take care of our young men and women, but to teach them how to live full lives and take care of themselves to the extent of their individual ability.
